Minority leader and general election candidate on behalf of the PN James Aaron Ellul took to Facebook to reveal the sorry state of the subway in Floriana.

Posting an image and a video to Facebook, Ellul said that he has just put forth a call for the damages to be fixed as soon as possible.

He said that if this is not done, the subway is closed off until the necessary works are done. ‘The situation is a precarious one and gives way for lots of abuse.’

‘This is a problem which has been ongoing for several years, with the work done not being sustainable. The residents and workers are suffering the consequences of the such carelessness’ he said.

He called on the authorities to increase security in the zone and to maintain an upkeep of the area, along with the required to be carried out as soon as possible.

Kylian Mbappe lost 700,000 Instagram followers for rejecting Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe lost 700,000 Instagram followers for rejecting Real Madrid
May 24 2022 Share

Football sensation Kylian Mbappe has reportedly lost a whopping 700,000 followers on Instagram after he rejected Real Madrid and chose to stay with Paris Saint-Germain.

The 23-year-old footballer was ready to join Real as a free agent as his previous PSG contract expired in the summer.

However, a lucrative offer in the last hours saw the player recommit to PSG and sign a three-year deal. Despite going down well in the French capital, it left a sour taste for many Madrid fans.

It was reported that Mbappe’s follower count dropped from 71.6 million to 70.9 million on Saturday after his renewal was announced. He is the fourth most followed player on the platform, right behind PSG teammates Neymar and Messi as well as Manchester United star Ronaldo.

Some Real supporters have also shared screenshots of themselves blocking the player on Twitter. However, we doubt Mbappe has felt the tiny dent in his follower count as he has been allegedly promised some perks.

He claims that he chose to stay at the club because his story is not complete yet. ‘I was free to make a decision, and I know how important that is in France. “It is the country where I have grown up. I have always lived here, and leaving my country wasn’t the right thing.’

How to protect yourself from summer heat during work

How to protect yourself from summer heat during work
May 24 2022 Share

The summer heat is officially upon us, and not all of us have the luxury of working indoors in air-conditioned rooms.

Here are some tips for anyone venturing outside to work:

Malta daily Facebook 970x90
  • Wear a hat: ideally a wide-brimmed hat or hat with back flap
  • Wear suitable clothing: lightweight, cotton shirts and long trousers
  • Wear sunglasses: make sure they block 99% of UVA and UVB rays
  • Apply sunscreen: read instructions on how many times to apply!
  • Drink water!: reduce coffee, alcohol and large amounts of sugar.
  • Eat light meals before starting work.
  • Check your skin for increases in freckles, new blemishes or moles.

UV radiation is considered a workplace hazard for those workers who work outside as they are more exposed to these rays. People who work in construction, gardening, farming industries or outdoor selling and postal services are at a very high risk.

Those who work in kitchens or on farms may also be subject to problems caused by heat and humidity. Administrative precautions can also help prevent heat related incidents – setting up tents, ensuring adequate ventilation and even rescheduling more breaks.
