63 Year Old Man Hit By Car In Zurrieq Grievously Injured

A 63 year old man resident of Zurrieq was taken to Mater Dei Hospital yesterday evening at around 1930hrs after he was injured in a traffic accident in Vjal il-Blue Grotto, Zurrieq.

Preliminary investigations showed that the man had been hit by a Citroen Saxo, being driven by a 19 year old man resident of Hal Luqa.

The man was given medical aid on site and transported to Mater Dei where he was certified as having suffered grievous injuries.

Investigations by police are still ongoing.

Malta, along with Poland, registered the second lowest unemployment rate in the EU, following only Czechia at 2.8%.

Germany registered the third lowest rate at 3.4%, whereas Spain registered the highest rate at 11.2%.

Greece and Finland registered the second and third highest rates at 9.6% and 8.7% respectively.

In November 2024, the euro area seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 6.3%, which is stable compared with October of last year.

‘The EU unemployment rate was 5.9% in November 2024, also stable compared with October 2024.’

Yesterday, the Malta Knights national rugby league team had a significant meeting with Prime Minister Robert Abela at Castille.

Jean-Pierre Zarb, President of the Malta Rugby League (MRL) and vice-captain of the Malta Knights, expressed:
