With around 60 to 90 patients from Malta and Gozo travelling to the UK each month for medical treatment, the need for accommodation near hospitals is steadily increasing.
Rennie and Angele from Puttinu Cares highlighted the significance of this year’s fundraising marathon, taking place this Friday.
Two years ago, Puttinu purchased a property in central London, just 10 minutes away from several major hospitals.

Recently, they received approval to add another floor to the building, which will expand the number of available apartments to 29—providing even more families with a place to stay during challenging times.
“This building, like all properties under Puttinu, is fully owned—not rented,” noted Cuschieri, stressing how vital public donations have been in making these long-term resources possible. Thanks to the ongoing generosity of the Maltese and Gozitan people, these homes remain a lasting source of support for those in need.
She encouraged everyone to tune in this Good Friday for the live Puttinu Cares telethon, airing on all local TV stations. The event will feature personal stories from patients and families, offering viewers a meaningful opportunity to make a difference.
