The US has officially reached the landmark of having at least 60% of US adult citizens having received their first COVID-19 vaccine dose. The US is still very high in terms of cases, with 25 million confirmed infections and India following at close second. Director of US Centres for Disease and Control and Prevention Dr. Rochelle Walensky announced the news and stated that the US must keep vaccinating citizens.
She added that ‘this will require [the US] to meet people where they are, to listen to their concerns, and to help people make informed decisions about vaccinations.’ Demand for vaccination by citizens is still however decreasing, with many leaders and ministers finding innovative ways to get citizens to apply for their vaccine.
