According to a Sagalytics survey, 54.1% of locals reported in September 2024 that they agree with sustainable hunting in Malta.
This follows another similar survey in June 2023, wherein the same question was asked. Last year, 50.4% said yes to regulated hunting, whereas 33.5% said no and 16.1% said they have no opinion.
This year, 33.2% said said no and 12.6% said they have no opinion.
The news was shared by Federazzjoni Kaċċaturi Nassaba Konservazzjonisti (FKNK), who said that that this is a positive change in public opinion.
‘In light of this evidence, FKNK encourages those who take decisions to consider these findings in their political deliberations. It is essential that the rules and discussions surrounding hunting are based on the realities of public opinion and the principles of sustainable use.’
