Kaumba, a stylist from New York City, created the “Granny Series” in 2023, where she styled her grandmother in high-fashion outfits and photographed her in the natural setting of their Zambian farm.

The series quickly gained popularity on Instagram, where Chola, known as “Legendary Glamma,” now has 60.8K followers.

Chola’s fashion includes bold outfits, such as vibrant dresses, jeans with graphic tees, and accessories like pearls, hats, and wigs.

Her granddaughter’s posts often feature Chola posing with personal items, like her radio or cooking brazier, which reflect her daily life in Zambia. The series, especially a photoshoot featuring Chola in a red Adidas dress and a crown, went viral in April 2024, garnering global attention.

Through this experience, Chola has found a new sense of purpose. She urges others to “live their lives” without fear of judgment and to “forgive yourself.”

The competition began with 30 contestants following a preliminary event, which included a national costume contest.

The finalists were narrowed down through swimwear and evening gown rounds, with the final five answering questions on leadership and resilience. When asked how she would live differently without judgment, Theilvig said, “I live by each day.” She also encouraged viewers to “keep fighting … no matter where you come from.”

Chidimma Adetshina of Nigeria was first runner-up, and Maria Fernanda Beltran of Mexico was second runner-up. Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand and Ileana Marquez Pedroza of Venezuela rounded out the top five.

This year marked the first time women over 28 could compete, with Malta’s Beatrice Njoya, the oldest finalist, making history.

The pageant saw several first-time contestants, including Cuba, Belarus, Eritrea, and the UAE. Some national contests were marred by controversy, including Miss Universe South Africa, where Adetshina later represented Nigeria.

Biden Authorises Ukraine Using Long Range Missiles On Russia

Biden Authorises Ukraine Using Long Range Missiles On Russia
Nov 18 2024 Share

U.S. President Joe Biden has authorised Ukraine to use long-range American ATACMS missiles against military targets inside Russia, marking a significant policy shift.

The move, first reported by The New York Times and The Washington Post and later confirmed by a U.S. official, comes amid reports of North Korea deploying 10,000 troops to support Russia’s war effort.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has long sought approval for ATACMS, capable of striking deep within Russian territory.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously warned that such actions would signify NATO engaging in direct conflict with Russia.

The decision also aligns with Biden’s plan to allocate the remaining $6 billion in Ukraine aid before handing over power to President-elect Donald Trump on January 20.

Trump has pledged to end the war swiftly, likely requiring Ukraine to cede territory. His administration has criticised continued U.S. support for Kyiv, with figures like Mike Waltz and Donald Trump Jr. expressing skepticism of further aid.

The policy shift may influence European allies. France and Britain have provided long-range missiles but refrained from allowing strikes on Russian soil without U.S. endorsement.

Germany continues to withhold its Taurus missiles. Meanwhile, Russia launched extensive attacks on Ukraine’s energy grid, killing 11 civilians, intensifying concerns as winter approaches.
