According to a report by Politico, Malta’s Glenn Micallef was pretty successfully in navigating the grilling, despite never having held political office.

‘Micallef pulled off some tricks that scored him points among culture committee lawmakers and — crucially — didn’t screw up on the content (of his rather light portfolio of intergenerational fairness, culture, youth, and sport)’, Politico reported.

‘He kicked off by referring to his time as a Parliament intern (and closed with an outstretched hand to lawmakers); spoke Maltese when addressing a question on multilingualism; and emphasised the importance of diversity after a controversial gender-in-sports-question — all of which went down well.’

Over the past week, the European Parliament’s committees held rigorous hearings to evaluate each of the 26 commissioner candidates on their readiness for EU policymaking roles. Success required respect, language skills, and avoiding spending promises.

Behind-the-scenes politics influenced outcomes, yet candidates faced intense scrutiny to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of their portfolios assigned by President Ursula von der Leyen.

The Bear Season 4 Could Release in 2025
Nov 13 2024 Share

Hulu has officially unveiled a teaser for the upcoming fourth season of The Bear, giving fans an exciting glimpse of Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) and the crew back in action at the restaurant. Released as part of Disney+’s 2025 preview, the footage features Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her role as Donna Berzatto, the Berzatto family matriarch.

In a touching moment, Donna shares a heartfelt line with Sydney (Ayo Edebiri): “Sometimes, your work family is closer to you than your family family.” While the full context remains unknown, Sydney’s smile suggests a meaningful exchange.

The teaser also confirmed the return of cast favorites, including Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richie, Liza Colón-Zayas as Tina, and Matty Matheson as Neil. Season three left fans in suspense, with Sydney considering a job offer that cast doubt on her future with the team.

However, the teaser suggests she may still be committed to The Bear’s mission. While no specific release date has been set, Hulu hinted at a mid-2025 premiere, likely around June based on previous seasons’ timelines.
