An investigation into drug trafficking by the police has led to the arrest of three men in Bugibba and Mosta. The arrests were made after a vehicle was stopped in Bugibba on Friday, and subsequent searches revealed suspected drugs in the possession of the suspects.
The vehicle, driven by a 50-year-old man, was carrying another man aged 39. Upon searching the vehicle, the police discovered several sachets containing suspected cocaine and heroin, indicating preparation for trafficking.
Following this discovery, the police continued their search in Mosta, specifically at the residence of the 50-year-old driver. Inside the residence, they found a significant quantity of suspected pure heroin, estimated to be around 700 grams, along with a firearm and ammunition. Additionally, various other items commonly associated with drug trafficking were seized by the authorities.
The three suspects, aged 50, 39, and 24 respectively, will be brought before Magistrate Dr. Rachel Montebello LL.D. around 12:30 PM for further legal proceedings.
