3/3 Wins For Malta's U-15 Girls In UEFA Development Tournament

The Malta U-15 girls’ team completed their UEFA Development Tournament with three consecutive 1-0 victories.

On Sunday, under the guidance of coach Kirsten Attard, Malta secured a 1-0 win against Luxembourg, thanks to a goal by Kylie Pullicino.

Earlier in the tournament, Malta also triumphed over Andorra with a goal from Katrine Jorgensen and kicked off their campaign with a win against the Faroe Islands, courtesy of Shanaia Mifsud’s goal.

€1,528,367 Raised In Aid Of Dar Bjorn, ALS Malta

A whopping €1,528,367 were raised during yesterday’s ‘Sa L-Aħħar Nifs’ fundraising marathon in aid of DAR Bjorn and ALS Malta.

The Maltese public came together to raise funds for Bjorn and Maria Formosa’s initiative that seeks to help ALS patients and improve their lives.

‘Thank you for being with me until the last breath’, Bjorn wrote on social media.

‘That which we achieved together is incredible and will make a huge difference. We cannot find the words to express the gratitude for your dedication and generosity.’

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola had the opportunity to meet Juventus football legend Alessandro del Piero whilst in New York.

‘Con il campione del mondo, un grande uomo e leggenda della Juventus Alessandro del Piero, oggi a New York’, wrote the President.

The Italian former professional footballer won the Series A Italian Footballer of the Year award in 1998 and 2008, and received multiple nominations for the Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year.

During his senior career, he started off with Padova before moving to Juventus between 1993 and 2012.

He also represented the Italy national team at three FIFA World Cups and four UEFA European Football Championships. He notably won the 2006 FIFA World Cup and reached the final of UEFA Euro 2000 with Italy.

He is also the point fourth highest scorer for the Italy national team with 27 goals alongside Roberto Baggio.
