Between May of 2021 and December of 2022, a total of 294 animals were seized, with 285 of them finding new homes.
The types of animals included ponies, ducks, cats, birds, chickens, quails, guinea pigs, rabbits, dogs, geese, plovers, roosters, chickens, and budgies.
The announcement was made by Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Anton Refalo in response to an inquiry by opposition MP Charles Azzopardi in Parliament.
