In the presence of Principal Permanent Secretary Tony Sultana, the Chief Executives of SEM and Business First, Rodrick Zerafa and Marika Tonna, signed a cooperation agreement aimed at improving services for both start-up and growing businesses in accessing European funds.

The agreement establishes methods of cooperation between the two government entities, allowing SEM officials to train Business First employees on opportunities for European funding for businesses. This will provide better service and equip businesses with greater knowledge about available support sources.

On the other hand, SEM will gain a better understanding of the needs of businesses, enabling it to guide them more effectively toward funding sources for their desired expansion.

Also present at the agreement were the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects, Nancy Caruana, and the Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, responsible for European Funds, Social Dialogue, Industrial Relations and Employment, Equality, and Reforms, Jonathan Vassallo.
