245 COVID-19 cases registered overnight with 69 recoveries

Malta has registered 245 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 3,592 swab tests, while 69 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

From yesterday’s cases; 40 cases were family members of previously known cases, 22 cases were contacts of positive work colleagues, 15 cases were direct contacts with other positive cases, 13 cases were from social gatherings.

To date, Malta has registered 14,212 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 11,759 have recovered, 232 died and 2,034 are still active.

Darrin Zammit Lupi shares heart breaking photo in memory of his late daughter Rebecca

Rebecca Zammit Lupi left this world on the 3rd of January, 2021. Rebecca was battling a rare form of cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma.

After fighting a very hard and brave battle, ever so gracefully, Rebecca’s time in pain and in battle has ended.

Her father, Darrin Zammit Lupi, just shared a heartbreaking photo of his beloved daughter using a hospital railing as a dance barre.

Darrin quoted what Fr Brendan Mark Gatt said during Rebecca’s funeral; “hope is stronger than despair, and that life and love will have the final word, not death. For Becs, a hospital hallway railing became a dancer’s barre at which to practice her ballet moves; she reminds us that even through unimaginably excruciating physical suffering, the dancer inside her remains free.”

Brisbane goes into 3-day lockdown over first case of UK variant

Brisbane, Australia’s third-largest city has just gone into a 3-day lockdown after finding their first case of the UK variant.

Authorities are racing to find any possible infected people to contain the spread as quickly as possible.

Spain; Newborn who contracted COVID-19, finally goes home healthy

A newborn baby, born in Valencia, Spain contracted COVID-19 just 9 days after being born.

The baby was immediately admitted into the hospital’s intensive care unit and was not allowed visitors.

His parents had initially only been able to see their newborn via video calls.

After a long and hard 2 months, baby Petru is now healthy and negative for COVID-19.

The newborn was finally allowed to go home.
