The Xrobb L-Għaġin Nature Park & Wildlife Rehab Centre team had the opportunity of releasing little turtle Manuela earlier this week.

Manuela arrived to the team on the 31st of January, unable to dive after having ingested plastic.

After treatment, she defecated the plastic and started to dive again, leading to her release back into the sea.

‘Safe travels to our little Manuela’, wrote Wildlife Rescue Team Malta. ‘Please stay out of trouble, and hopefully we will see you in around 17 – 20 year’s time for nesting.’

Shared to local Facebook group ‘Nostalgia Malta’, the photos capture the simplicity of a life very few of us will now have a memory of.

Other photos show a shepherd heading home after work in Tarxien, and the Wignacourt Tower as it overlooks St Paul’s Bay in 1967.
