1st Look At Miriana Conte’s Rehearsal At Eurovision 2025
Over 100 Law Students Given Opportunity To Spend A Day With A Judge
In one of the largest and most impactful initiatives ever undertaken by a law student organisation in Malta, over 110 law students were given the rare chance to spend a full day with a Judge or Magistrate as part of a unique legal immersion programme.
Organised by the Junior Chamber of Advocates, the initiative was spearheaded by Projects Officer Shazney Vella and Projects Coordinator Michaela Vassallo, with strong support from the organisation’s President, Martina Cortis.
The programme aimed to bridge the gap between legal theory and practice by offering students firsthand exposure to the inner workings of the Maltese court system.
Over 30 members of the judiciary volunteered to participate, resulting in the formation of more than 50 student groups, each assigned to a specific member of the bench.
Throughout the day, students attended live court sittings, observed real-time legal proceedings, and engaged in insightful discussions about judicial processes, ethical obligations, and the day-to-day responsibilities of the judiciary.
This hands-on experience offered aspiring lawyers invaluable insight into courtroom dynamics and the realities of legal practice, helping them better understand the professional path ahead. It marked a significant step in fostering stronger ties between Malta’s legal education and its justice system.

4 Road Accident Deaths In First 3 Months Of 2025
During the first quarter of 2025, there was a decline in both road traffic accidents and casualties compared to the same period in 2024.
A total of 3,468 traffic accidents were reported, representing a 9.0% decrease. The Northern Harbour district recorded the highest number of incidents, accounting for 1,178 cases, or 34.0% of the total.
Casualties resulting from traffic accidents also dropped by 11.9%, reaching 297 cases.
Among these, 78 individuals sustained grievous injuries, including 42 drivers, 13 passengers, and 23 pedestrians, cyclists, or others. Sadly, four fatalities occurred during this period—three drivers and one pedestrian—marking an increase of three compared to the first quarter of 2024.
Men accounted for the majority of those seriously injured, at 69.2%, and three of the four fatalities were male. Most casualties (33.7%) were from the 26 to 40 age group.
Passenger cars were involved in the majority of accidents (51.9%), followed by motorcycles (31.6%) and goods vehicles (8.1%).
Among cyclists, six were involved in accidents—three seriously injured and three slightly. Fatal incidents included three drivers crashing into property and one pedestrian being hit.
The highest number of casualties occurred on Mondays, while Fridays saw the most accidents. Most incidents took place between 09:00–11:59, followed by 15:00–17:59.

Miriana Mingles With More Eurovision 2025 Contestants
Malta’s Eurovision 2025 representative Miriana Conte took to TikTok as she continues to mingle with the other contestants, this time with Poland’s Justyna Steczkowska.
Steczkowska’s song, ‘Gaja’, centres around the goddess Gaia, and features the word ‘time’ (‘czas’) in the chorus.

Miriana starts the video singing her chorus, but where the word KANT used to be (removed for EBU purposes), Steczkowska jumps in inputting the word ‘czas.’
It’s such a great sight seeing Miriana and many of the other contestants having fun together as they rehearse ahead of next week’s contest.
