191 COVID-19 cases registered with 323 recoveries

Malta has registered 191 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 3,413 swab tests, while 323 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

As of Saturday 22nd March 2021, 145,934 vaccine doses were administered of which 44,483 were 2nd doses.

To date, Malta has registered 28,319 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 25,343 have recovered, 373 died and 2,603 are still active.

After being voted Sportswoman of the Year just last week, Haley Bugeja proved her title in her scoring return for US Sassuolo in the Italian Serie A Femminile. The Maltese striker scored in the 2-0 win over San Marino after having returned from injury recovery.

U.S. Sassuolo player Haley Bugeja marked her return to play after an injury with a goal. She doubled her team's lead just four minutes after entering as a substitute against San Marino Academy.Keep it up Haley!

Her return lead to her team’s second goal on 67 minutes as they sealed the win on Sunday. Haley has so far scored 7 goals throughout 12 games in Serie A as she makes her grand return.

Three men arrested over child pornography

Police have revealed that three men have been arrested over the possession of child pornography. A man was first taken to court yesterday 21sr March 2021 for spreading indecent material of minors. Another two men soon followed suit as police continued their investigations.

The two men arrested were San Pawl and another from Mosta, both 28-years-old. Authorities are continuing their investigations.

Abela was a catalyst to Spain’s Otero Junior College Women’s Basketball team’s win over ninth-ranked Western Nebraska Community College on Friday, with Abela securing a humble 18-point game and a game-winning assist alongside teammate Emma Florez-Pascual.

Team Coach Landon Steele highlighted how both Abela and Florez-Pascual are two of the coach’s favourite athletes ever and wishes to keep them for as much as eight more years, highlighting their ultra-competitive spirit.
