Gozitan students should sit for exams in Gozo, MP urges

Gozitan students should sit for exams in Gozo, MP urges
Apr 27 2023 Share

Nationalist Party MP Alex Borg has issued a letter to University of Malta Rector Alfred Vella and Education Minister Clifton Grima, urging them to allow Gozitan students to sit for exams in Gozo.

The issue concerns exams which are conducted through WISEFLOW, an online system which allows students to sit exams on their own personal laptop.

Despite this, students would still need to be present at the Tal-Qroqq Campus to undertake the examination.

Borg wrote that while the method of examination cannot be contested, it should be considered whether the sitting and invigilation should take place in Gozo.

This would reduce the hassle Gozitan students face in regards to travelling to Malta on such an important academic day. Borg believes that through training of employees as well as the relocation of resources, the issue can be solved for so many students who would benefit from the change.

After Love Island Malta unveiled their official host, Yazmin Helledie, we thought it would be a great idea to make you more familiar with the face you’ll be seeing during this long anticipated program on Maltese TV.

Yazmin rose to prominence during X-Factor Malta season 2 when she was paired with James Mifsud and tutored by Howard Keith.

However, what you might not know is that she participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 4 times, being a massive fan of the competition as a singer and songwriter.

But there is more to Yazmin outside of the world of music, having graduated from the University of Malta with a degree in B.Sc Communication Therapy and spending time working as an LSE with students.

Her latest gig as Love Island Malta host will undoubtedly push Helledie’s career forward, considering the popularity the programme has achieved off of Maltese shores.

What do you think of the casting?
