1,875 Students Set To Graduate This Year From UOM

The University of Malta (UOM) has revealed that a total of 1,875 students will be graduating this year.

The Faculty of Economics, Management & Accountancy (FEMA) has the highest number of graduates at 244, followed by the Health Sciences Faculty and Social Well-being Faculty at 234.

The Faculty of Arts has 214 students graduating whereas the Faculty of Law has 162 students graduating.

There are to be 1,152 females graduating from UOM, along with 720 males and 3 x-gender students.

There will be a total of 10 graduation ceremonies taking place across the span of seven days at Sir Temi Zammit Hall, Msida Campus, kicking off on Thursday 14th November.

The actor spent some time on a yacht out at sea, joined by his two children and his fiancee Rosie-Huntington-Whiteley.

In the background, Malta’s scenic cliffside could be seen as the family enjoyed some downtime as Jason films for his next role in Mutiny.

Trump Picks Musk To Run ‘Department Of Government Efficiency’

President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Elon Musk to head the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), aimed at reducing federal bureaucracy.

Musk, the founder of SpaceX and Tesla, will work alongside biotech investor Vivek Ramaswamy to advise the White House on government reform.

The Doge initiative—named after Musk’s favoured cryptocurrency, Dogecoin—seeks to overhaul federal agencies, cut unnecessary regulations, and eliminate wasteful spending.

This move follows Trump’s nomination of former Fox News host Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defence, and John Ratcliffe, former Director of National Intelligence, to lead the CIA.

Ramaswamy, who endorsed Trump after his own presidential campaign ended, will support Musk in targeting inefficiencies across $6.5 trillion in annual government spending. Trump aims to complete these changes by July 4, 2026, the 250th anniversary of American independence, viewing it as a gift to the nation.

Musk recently called for $2 trillion in federal budget cuts and advocated for the closure of redundant agencies, though specifics are yet to be detailed.

Trump compared the initiative to the Manhattan Project, emphasising its ‘transformative potential.’ Following the announcement, Musk asserted on social media that the initiative targets excessive bureaucracy rather than democracy itself, singling a major shift in government structure under Trump’s administration.

Tyson Fury Dines At Local ‘Giuseppi’s Bar & Bistro’

Taking to social media, the staff at Naxxar’s ‘Giuseppi’s Bar and Bistro’ shared a photo with the one and only Tyson Fury after he dined in their establishment.

The boxing legend enjoyed a meal at the restaurant, ‘bringing his larger-than-life spirit to (their) table’.

Fury is in Malta for a serious training camp ahead of his highly anticipated rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury, also known as ‘The Gypsy King’ lost his undefeated record to Usyk, who now holds the undisputed heavyweight champion title.
