Transport Malta revealed that, during the first six months of 2023, up to 17,000 contraventions were issued, along with 600 vehicles being confiscated.
The efforts for road safety still continue, with an extensive inspection in Buġibba a day ago stopping 279 vehicles and seeing 94 contraventions being issued. 5 vehicles and a truck were confiscated to ‘maintain order on our roads.’
‘Additionally, 3 arrests were made to hold offenders accountable by the Malta Police Force.’
‘The authority will continue to work and provide more knowledge and education so that traffic regulations are not infringed. The Authority’s ultimate goal is to have safer roads through the necessary enforcement’, Transport Malta explained in a statement.
