During the first three months of the year, Malta’s Immigration Police at Malta International Airport prevented 114 individuals from entering the country.
This information was revealed in response to a parliamentary question posed to Minister of the Interior Byron Camilleri by Labor MP Naomi Cachia.
Minister Camilleri clarified that out of these 114 individuals, 57 were denied entry during procedures on flights arriving from non-EU countries, and subsequently were returned to their home countries.
Additionally, 57 other individuals from non-EU countries were apprehended in a separate area of the airport after checks upon their arrival from other Schengen area countries.
