11-Year Old Skateboarder Youngest Athlete At 2024 Olympics

Jul 30 2024 Share

Chinese skateboarding prodigy Zheng Haohao is the youngest athlete competing at this year’s Paris Olympics games.

Haohao was born on the 11th of August 2012 making her an insane 11 years young.

Along with being this year’s youngest athlete she is also the youngest athlete ever to compete for China at the games.

She has been skateboarding only for 4 years, first picking up a skateboard at age 7.

Her international skateboarding career started in 2023 World Skateboarding Tour in Argentina. She managed to qualify for this year’s Olympics by completing a 540 flip at the Budapest Olympic Qualifier Series.

The world’s eyes will be surely kept on her being the first ever Gen Alpha to compete at the Olympics.

Despite her young age, she has not broke the record for youngest age ever. That record belongs to Greek gymnast Dimitrios Loundras who competed at the 1896 Olympics in Athens at the age of  10 years and 218 days

Sasha Gatt Competes At Paris Olympics 1500M Heats

Jul 30 2024 Share

Local swimming prodigy, Sasha Gatt has now become a two-time Olympian competing earlier today in the 2024 Paris Olympics 1500m swimming heats.

Gatt raced against Gan Ching Hwee from Singapore and Kristel Kobrich from Chile in the first heat of the day at the Paris La Defense Arena.

Her session also saw Olympics legend Katie Ledecky race in the third and final heat, obtaining the quickest time out of everyone with a 15:47.43.

Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be for Sasha Gatt as she placed a time of 17:00.54, which was not enough for her to qualify to the 1500m final.

This is still a big achievement for Gatt and the Maltese Olympic and swimming scene who got to see one of their own compete against legends of the game such as Katie Ledeckie and massive countries like the USA, Australia and Chile amongst many others.
