Malta has registered 109 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 3,164 swab tests, while 2 patients have recovered. No deaths were registered in the past 24 hours. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

Till Yesterday, 703,928 vaccine doses were administered of which 369,854 were 1st doses. 349,133 people are currently fully vaccinated.

To date, Malta has registered 30,960 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 30,181 have recovered, 420 died and 359 are still active.

71 Italian students currently in quarantine in Malta

71 Italian students under the age of 18 are currently in quarantine in Malta, according to Italian news source TGCOM24.

21 of the aforementioned Italian students have tested positive for COVID-19, while the other 50 remain in quarantine due to contact with the infected students.

The teenagers reportedly remain blocked in Malta with the Italian Embassy currently in touch with local authorities to ensure the Italians receive the necessary support during this time.

Recently, Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne reported that language schools will officially close as of Wednesday 14th July, amongst other COVID-19 measures.
